A Rare WWII Japanese NCO Sword With No Hi
This is a nice WWII Japanese NCO sword. What is unusual about it is it has no Hi (groove in the blade). These are quite rare from my research. They were all made by Suya Shōten Co. Ltd with To inspection stamp and the stamp of Tōkyō First Army Arsenal. They all also fall in to a fairly narrow serial range. This one is SN 155374 which is the highest known to this date. The scabbard and blade numbers match. The condition is fairly nice with only light staining on the blade and most of the paint still remaining on the scabbard. The handle also still retains most of its original finish. You have an opportunity to own this rarity in Japanese nco swords.
