A Rare Early Pattern Imperial Japanese Naval Dirk
There is not a lot of information available on Imperial Japanese naval dirks but I think this is the first pattern made during the Meiji period when Japan was beginning to take on western style military uniforms and weapons. The book I have just vaguely refers to this as an early pattern.
